Is Spin & Paint free?
Yes — free to download and free to use, with a subscription that is genuinely optional. Here is the honest breakdown of where the line sits.
The short version
- Free to download. No account, no email, no sign-up. Nothing stands between opening the app and the first stroke.
- Free to use. Twelve artifacts across ten halls are free, and a new Model of the Day is free for everyone, every day.
- No ads in the free tier. Not "fewer ads" — none. There is no advertising SDK in the app.
- Optional subscription opens the whole museum: every artifact, at maximum detail, in all three modes.
Why the free tier is not a demo. Every free model works in all three modes — free painting, puzzle, and by numbers — at every piece count. Nothing about the free experience is a cut-down version of the mechanic. There are simply fewer artifacts.

The Model of the Day
This is the part worth understanding, because it changes what "free" means here over time. A new artifact is made free for everyone each day. Draw it and it is yours to work on. Someone who never subscribes and opens the app regularly accumulates a real collection.
Adventure mode runs on the same daily rhythm: it deals you one artifact at a time, and the next is drawn only when you have restored the current one. The 42 halls fill in behind you as you go.
What happens if you cancel
- Everything you have already made stays yours. Finished colorings and puzzles are written to your device, not held in an account.
- Free models keep working, in all three modes, as before.
- The Model of the Day keeps arriving.
- Subscriber-only artifacts stop being playable — that is what the subscription was for.
Subscriptions are managed in your App Store account settings, and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Full terms are in the Terms of Use.
What the app collects
No account means no name, no email and no profile. The app records anonymous product-interaction data — which models get opened, which modes get used — under a random per-install identifier, to work out what to build next. The "For you" recommendations are computed on the device; nothing about what you like leaves the phone. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
The fair summary. If you want a coloring app to open for ten minutes now and then, the free tier is a complete product and you will never hit a wall. If you want to work through a museum of 250+ artifacts, that is what the subscription is for.
